ಪಾಪ, ಸರಕಾರ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗಷ್ಟೆ ಕೋರಮಂಗಲದಲ್ಲಿ (೮ನೇ ಮೈನ್ ೪ನೇ ಬ್ಲಾಕ್) ಪಾದಚಾರಿ ರಸ್ತೆ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದೆ. ನೋಡಿ, ಒಬ್ಬ ದರಿದ್ರ ಸಿರಿವಂತ ಹೇಗೆ ಅನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ ತನ್ನದೇ ಜಾಗವೆಂಬಂತೆ! ಸರಕಾರ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ ಜನಕ್ಕೆ ದಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲ.. ಜನ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ನಡೆಯಬೇಕು ನೋಡಿ..

ಇದೇನಿದು? ಬ್ಲಾಗ್ ಹೆಸರೇ ಅಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ? ಹೌದು. ನಾನೀಗ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿಗೆ ಮರಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಇನ್ನು (ಮೊದಲಿದ್ದ) ಸಾನ್ಯೋಸೆಯ ಸಮಾಚಾರವಿಲ್ಲ. ಏನು ಹೊಸ ಹೆಸರು? ಯೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವೆ.... ಬಹು ಬೇಗ ಬರಲಿದೆ.

ಡಾಕ್ಟರ್ ಸುದರ್ಶನರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ. ಅವರು ಒಂದು ಕುಗ್ರಾಮವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾವಲಂಬಿ ಹಾಗು ಸ್ವಾ-ಪ್ರೇರಣಾ ಗ್ರಾಮವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಸಾವಿರ ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗಳಿದ್ದರೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳು ಕೇವಲ ಅಪರಾಧ, ಸೋಲು ಹಾಗು ಇತರ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಸುದ್ದಿಗಳಿಗೇಕೆ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾರೆ?
ನಾನೊಂದು ಸಲ ಟೆಲ್-ಅವಿವ್ನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ (ಇಸ್ರೇಲ್) ಅಲ್ಲಿಯ ದಿನಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದೆ. ಹಿಂದಿನ ದಿನ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಹಮಾಸ್ ನ ಧಾಳಿ ಯಿಂದ ಬಹಳ ಸಾವು ನೋವುಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ದಿನವದು . ಆದರೆ ಮುಖ ಪುಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದ ಸುದ್ದಿ - ಒಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರಜೆ ತನ್ನ ಮರುಭೂಮಿ ಯಂತಹ ಜಾಗವನ್ನು ಹಸಿರುಗೊಳಿಸಿದರು ಅಂತ ! ಅದೂ ಸಚಿತ್ರ .. ಉಳಿದ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಂತರದ ಪುಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ :) ನಾವು ದಿನವೂ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಗಳನ್ನೇ ಮೊದಲ ಪುಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಓದುತ್ತೇವೆ ಹಾಗೂ ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಡುತ್ತೇವೆ , ಯಾಕೆ ಹೀಗೆ?

ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ವಿಷಯ : ನಮಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ವಿದೇಶೀ ವಸ್ತುಗಳೇ ಬೇಕು. ವಿದೇಶೀ ತಂತ್ರ ಜ್ಞಾನವೂ ಬೇಕು. ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಆಮದಾಗ ಬೇಕು ,ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠೆ ಯನ್ನೇ ಬದಿಗಿಟ್ಟು !!! ಸ್ವಾ-ಧಾರದಿಂದ ನಮಗೆ ಅಭಿಮಾನ ಎಂದು ನಾವು ಯಾಕೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ? ನಾನು ಹೈದರಾಬಾದಿನಲ್ಲಿ ೧೪ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಒಬ್ಬಳು ಹುಡುಗಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದೆ , ನಿನ್ನ ಕನಸು ಏನಮ್ಮ? ಅಂತ . ಆಕೆ ಅಂದದ್ದು ಹೀಗೆ : ನಾನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಬಯಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದಳು. ಅವಳಿಗಾಗಿ ನಾನು, ನೀವು ನಮ್ಮ ಹೊಸ ಭಾರತವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಬೇಕು.ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಹೊಂದದ - ಅಲ್ಲ - ಹೊಂದಿದ ದೇಶವಾಗಬೇಕು.
ಒಂದು ೧೦ ನಿಮಿಷ (ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇಶಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ) ಇದೆಯಾ? ನನಗೆ ಒಂದಷ್ಟು ನಿಜವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಲು ಬಿಡಿ. ಇಲ್ಲ, ನಿಮ್ಮಿಷ್ಟ :(

ಹೌದು ಸ್ವಾಮೀ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯೇ ಮಾತಾಡಿದ್ದು ಮಹಾರಾಯರೆ. ತಾವು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರೂ ತುಂಬ ಸಭ್ಯರು ಹಾಗೂ ಕಾನೂನು ಪಾಲಕೆರು. ಆದರೆ ನೋಡಿ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದಿಳಿದ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಬದಲಾಗುತ್ತೀರಿ, ಅಲ್ಲೇ (ನನ್ನ ಟಿಪ್ಪಣಿ: ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಲಾಂಜಲ್ಲೆ) ಕಸ ಹಾಕುತ್ತೀರಿ. ಬಾಡಿಗೆ ಕಾರಿನಿಂದ(Cab) ಬಾಳೆಹಣ್ಣು ಸಿಪ್ಪೆ ಎಸೆಯುತ್ತೀರಿ (ನಾನು ಸೇರಿಸಿದ್ದು). ವಿದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮಗೆ ಕೆಲವೊಂದು ಸಲ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಪ್ರಜೆಯೆಂಬ ಬಿರುದು ಕೂಡ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದೆ, ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಇಲ್ಲೂ ಯಾಕೆ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಹಾಗೇ ಇರಬಾರದು?
ಅಮೆರಿಕಾದ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಪಾನಿನ ಪಾರ್ಕುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ನಾಯಿಯ "ಕೆಲಸ"ವಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯಜಮಾನ(ತಿ) ಶುಚಿಗೊಳಿಸುವುದು ತಮಗೆ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಮಾಡುವಿರೇ ಹೀಗೆ? ಓಹ್ ನೀವು ಸರಿ ! ತಾವು (ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯುತವಾಗಿ) ವೋಟು ಹಾಕಿ ಸರಕಾರ ತಂದಿದ್ದೀರಿ, ಸರಕಾರದ ಕೆಲಸ ತಾನೆ ಅದು? ತಮಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಸರಕಾರವೇ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು, ನಿಮಗೆಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಹೊಣೆ? ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟು ಕಸ ಹಾಕಬಲ್ಲಿರಿ , ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸರಾರಿರಿ , ಆದರೆ ಶುಚಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಸರಕಾರ ಬೇಕು. ತಾವು ಕಸ ಹೆಕ್ಕುವುದು ಅಥವಾ ಕಸದ ಬುಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಹಾಕುವುದು ಬಹಳ ದೂರದ ಮಾತು. ಧ್ವನಿಯೆತ್ತುತ್ತೇವೆ, ಆದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಅದೇ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಮೇಲಿಂದ ಸಮಜಾಯಿಶಿ : ನಾನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಮಾಡಿದರಾಗದು, ಇಡಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯೇ ಬದಲಾದರೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸಾಧ್ಯ. ಯಾರು ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಬೇಕು? ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಿದ್ದಾರೆ? ಪಕ್ಕದ ಮನೆಯವರು, ಪಕ್ಕದ ಗ್ರಾಮ, ಪೇಟೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸರಕಾರ ತಾನೆ? ನಾನು ಹಾಗೂ ನೀವು ಬಿಟ್ಟು (ನಗು). ಯಾವಾಗ ನಾವೇ ಧನಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ದೇಣಿಗೆ(ಬರೇ ಹಣವಲ್ಲ) ಕೊಡಬೇಕಾದಾಗ ನಾವಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲ, ನಾವು ವಿದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾರಿರುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಅಥವಾ ಯಾರೋ "ಶ್ರೀ ಶುಚಿ" (Mr.Clean) ಬರಬೇಕು ಹಾಗೂ ಜಾದೂ ಮಾಡಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು. ಹಾಗಂತ ನಾವು ಗೊಣಗದೇ ಸುಮ್ಮನಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಯಾವುದೋ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬೊಟ್ಟು ಮಾಡಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೆ, ನಾವು ಎಂದು ಹಾಗಾಗುವುದು ಅಂತ ಕೇಳುತ್ತೇವೆ, ಅಲ್ಲವೆ?

ಓಹ್, ನಾವು ಅಮೆರಿಕ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆ ಅಂತ ಹೊಗಳುತ್ತ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಬಂದರೆ ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡಿಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದಲೇ ಹಾರಿಬಿಡುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಅಲ್ಲೂ ನಿರುದ್ಯೋಗ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಬಂತೋ, ನಾವು ದುಬಾಯಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ! ದುಭಾಯಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ದವಾಗಿ ಅತಂತ್ರ ಬಂದಾಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ನಮ್ಮ ಸರಕಾರ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಕರೆತರಬೇಕು, ನಾವು ಭಾರತೀಯರು ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ! ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬೈದು, ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇವೆ, ಆದರೆ ಯಾರು ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಪೋಷಿಸಲು ಇದ್ದಾರೆ? ನಮ್ಮ ಅಂತರಂಗವನ್ನು ಎಂದೋ ದುಡ್ಡಿಗೆ ಮಾರಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಅಲ್ಲ ಹರಾಜು ಹಾಕಿದ್ದೇವೆ !!!

Why is the media here so negative?Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our achievements?We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why?We are the first in milk production.We are number one in Remote sensing satellites.We are the second largest producer of wheat.We are the second largest producer of rice.Look at Dr. Sudarshan , he has transferred the tribal village into a self-sustaining, self-driving unit.. There are millions of such achievements but our media is only obsessed in the bad news and failures and disasters.I was in Tel Aviv once and I was reading the Israeli newspaper. It was the day after a lot of attacks and bombardments and deaths had taken place. The Hamas had struck. But the front page of the newspaper had the picture of a Jewish gentleman who in five years had transformed his desert into an orchid and a granary. It was this inspiring picture that everyone woke up to. The gory details of killings, bombardments, deaths, were inside in the newspaper, buried among other news.In India we only read about death, sickness, terrorism, crime.. Why are we so NEGATIVE? Another question: Why are we, as a nation so obsessed with foreign things? We want foreign T.Vs, we want foreign shirts. We want foreign technology.Why this obsession with everything imported. Do we not realize that self-respect comes with self-reliance? I was in Hyderabad giving this lecture, when a 14 year old girl asked me for my autograph. I asked her what her goal in life is. She replied: I want to live in a developed India .. For her, you and I will have to build this developed India . You must proclaim. India is not an under-developed nation; it is a highly developed nation.Do you have 10 minutes? Allow me to come back with a vengeance.Got 10 minutes for your country? If yes, then read; otherwise, choice is yours.YOU say that our government is inefficient.YOU say that our laws are too old.YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage.YOU say that the phones don't work, the railways are a joke. The airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination. YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits.YOU say, say and say. I am so and so's son. Take your two bucks and get lost.' YOU wouldn't chuck an empty coconut shell anywhere other than the garbage pail on the beaches in Australia and New Zealand .Why don't YOU spit Paan on the streets of Tokyo ? Why don't YOU use examination jockeys or buy fake certificates in Boston ??? We are still talking of the same YOU. YOU who can respect and conform to a foreign system in other countries but cannot in your own. You who will throw papers and cigarettes on the road the moment you touch Indian ground. If you can be an involved and appreciative citizen in an alien country, why cannot you be the same here in India ?In America every dog owner has to clean up after his pet has done the job.. Same in Japan .Will the Indian citizen do that here?' He's right. We go to the polls to choose a government and after that forfeit all responsibility.We sit back wanting to be pampered and expect the government to do everything for us whilst our contribution is totally negative. We expect the government to clean up but we are not going to stop chucking garbage all over the place nor are we going to stop to pick a up a stray piece of paper and throw it in the bin. We expect the railways to provide clean bathrooms but we are not going to learn the proper use of bathrooms.We want Indian Airlines and Air India to provide the best of food and toiletries but we are not going to stop pilfering at the least opportunity.This applies even to the staff who is known not to pass on the service to the public.When it comes to burning social issues like those related to women, dowry, girl child! and others, we make loud drawing room protestations and continue to do the reverse at home. Our excuse? 'It's the whole system which has to change, how will it matter if I alone forego my sons' rights to a dowry.' So who's going to change the system?What does a system consist of? Very conveniently for us it consists of our neighbours, other households, other cities, other communities and the government. But definitely not me and YOU. When it comes to us actually making a positive contribution to the system we lock ourselves along with our families into a safe cocoon and look into the distance at countries far away and wait for a Mr.Clean to come along & work miracles for us with a majestic sweep of his hand or we leave the country and run away.Like lazy cowards hounded by our fears we run to America to bask in their glory and praise their system. When New York becomes insecure we run to England . When England experiences unemployment, we take the next flight out to the Gulf. When the Gulf is war struck, we demand to be rescued and brought home by the Indian government. Everybody is out to abuse and rape the country. Nobody thinks of feeding the system. Our conscience is mortgaged to money.

The king was asking everyday. One day the king's mom died. So he was sad. And forgot about the princess. One day the remembered the princess who was beautiful. Her name was "Puty". She was very beautiful. The prince loved her song. One day he asked his dad if he can marry that princess. But his dad said "No, no no!" too. He was very sad. And his dad died. Then he thought again about the princess. But the princess did not know that he is marrying her. And one day the king told her that we are marrying each other. The princess was surprized. So one day they got married. Year passed and they got a baby. Her name was "Chinei". Chinie now knows good songs.She sat behind tree and sang some songs.Another king was listening her songs. They liked each other. And so they married each other.

Yesteday mother nature showed us, how will she if enraged. It was of 5.6 magnitude. Probably the situation could have been bad if it happened in India. Though kids got scared for a while, they recovered soon.

Finally Shambo the bull, has travelled to Kailasa. I have a mixed feeling about it. While my Loukika thought says its pity to see animal being slaughtered, Adhyaathma thought says its all normal in nature(birth and death). This Saturday was a feast !
I must admit that during my Bangalore tenure, I did not watch a single show of Yakshagaana. But I was lucky to have this show here at US. My kids were really enjoying the drama. Enjoy some snaps here ! I must anonymosuly thank all people who arranged this . It was abosultly free show! Which story, who played it was secondary for me. What I needed was to get back my sweet old memories of Bayalaata. This group tried their best to make-a-like Bayalaata. This time in Amsterdam I made it a point to visit windmills, beaches, of course wander through common streets. Advantage I(T)?

Nowadays I am thinking how Bangalore(for that matter entire India) would be better place to live with IT(strip off T, if you wish, coz we think 'T' involves computer!). I am talking about only information.

- example my company's transport bus parking system(is there?). I see lots of collegues wasting thier time in searching their buses ( they leave 5 mins early to for that reason). Instead, if there is an indicative board of parking system or if they park buses serially ( 1A, 1B.....10C), how nice it would be?

- In general at Bangalore, if there is a board indicating alternative route board just below one-way signs (specially new implimentations), how nice it would be?

- How much I appreciate the waiting time indicaters in new trafic lights. I can see 80% drivers switch off engines,which is a lot!

My house has more features now! Come my home, I have North Indian sweet stall and now new feature I have a South Indian Kitchen (catering service business running). I get exciting flavours at my nostrils of all SI food almost all times now!

Sneha is in zoom now! My sneha is too talktive nowadays. You know now I am her 'mama'(effective of my prolonged stay in Germany). Now she prefers to be with my dad rather. All the time she says "ajja", so touching, but we cant bring "ajja" here! Well, she also sleeps well now, a relief in night for Veni. It is so nice to watch Prajna and Sneha hugging and sleeping in same bed. Proud father!

Back to Bangalore Hmm...landed in Bangalore! As it was odd time, dropped at friend's house. But house numbers made me to waste some time early in the morning. So friends, if you want to search a house in Bangalore dont rely on address, rather rely on landmarks and routemap:). I was expecting repair work in front of my house at Koramangala to be complete. To my bad luck, still work is going on .More than a year of work :(. BMC is testing patience !

Some changes in trafic in K'mangala. You can't enter St.Johns from Kripanidhi college(whats alternative? no idea yet. But some for good. I can catch E'city buses from Jakkasandra!

Had fun at native place for a week.Had a nice swimming at river next to our farm. My grandma wanted full details regarding Japan( she thought I went to Japan, confused). It was fun to convince her that Germany is different from Japan. She also liked my digital camera, for its instant display. But more effective was my good old Sony handycam. Its now 'oldman', shaky videos(like old B/W movies). But still all people liked video. Hidelberg movie was appreciated most! My papa wanted estimation as how many years it will take for my village to become German village. No replies!

Oh, its a must to comment about my Maruti. No repair, no service,but all good! But refused to start after safely dropping us at Bangalore (travelled 5K+ kilometers in absence). Still faithfull, hardworking!

My Europe visit

Paris visit was short and sweet. I liked the common streets of Paris, and sculpture works at bridges, streets, bulidings. Not to mention, my main focus was to visit the Effiel Tower. Wonderful!Afterall, one of seven wonders, rite?

Back in Frankfurt Busy scheduling my journey back home! Had nice time again with Ajay&Co, Nikkie! Yes, it time to head back, 7th I will be back in Blore. Frankfurt is going to remain in memory in future! Again well wishing from all of them, Thanks!

Good work Kamat's ! :For Kannadigas , Kamat's Potupurri is a must visit website. The subjects are wide ranging from Kamasutra to Illustrated weekly of India. It was amazing to see that a systematic work is being carried out to expose culture of Kannada, India a large to the web!

These days Frankfurts has become more active due to good weather conditions! I spend more time in exploring Frankfurt as sunset is too late nowadays!

Brahmakumaris everywhere! This Saturday, I was very upset as my doorbell rang early in the morning. But it was a postman who rang the bell. Hence went to him to check out. Oh! He turned out be a Brahmakumari. I recalled sweet old days of arguement I had with my beloved friend Sriram. Now a hardcore BK is back to mainstream, I thank God for making Sriram to marry :).
